For many of these buildings, you will be screened
with a magnetometer. They will also limit what you can bring
into the buildings. Examples of items prohibited in the US
Capitol inlucde any bag larger than 14"x13"4", aerosol containers,
any pointed object including knives, knitting needles, etc, all
types of drinks including unopened drinks, weapons including mace
and pepper spray, any non-aerosol sprays. During parts of your
visits like to the House or Senate Galleries, you will be prohibited
from bring into the Gallery all electronic devices, cameras, creams,
lotions, perfumes, strollers and video recorders.
