The Star was our first seven night cruise. We discovered that we loved the extra time on the ship. With the shorter cruises, almost as soon as we have unpacked, it is time to pack everything up again. We love just enjoying the ship...sitting by the pool, taking in a fun onboard game like bingo or watching a show. The NCL brand is famous for two things: the youngest fleet and their "Freestyle Cruising" approach. NCL does have the youngest average ship age in cruising. Their "freestyle" approach allows you to do things on your schedule. This primarily affects dining and debarkation. With dining, you can eat in the typically dining room or you can enjoy one of their many specialty dining options for a small fee and you can do this at a time that is convenient for your family.
